After a long time, Australia booked their flight to Pakistan. Pakistan had a lot of issues and controversies. For some previous incidents, players and board fear to arrange international games in Pak stadium. Players from outside of the world also disagree to visit Pak for sports.

Anyway, after 24 years Pakistan got the opportunity to host games with Australia. All the critics think that this will be a new chance for Pakistan to grow again. It will also help them to wipe out all old dirt. They are preparing their stadium and players for the upcoming war with AU.

Today on February 9, the Pakistan cricket board announce their squad to face the Australian team. Australia is now probably the most dangerous and powerful team. So Pak has to go through a lot to select their player. The board announced a total of 21 names for the series, 16 are the test player and 5 reserve players. Unfortunately, the former captain of Pakistan Sarfaraz Ahmed didn’t get the opportunity of playing in the main team. The selection board also put young pacer Naseem Shah and one of the most experienced players in team Pakistan Yasir Shah in the reserve option.

Pakistan’s line up:

Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Nawaz, Nauman Ali, Sajid Khan, Saud Shakeel, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shan Masood, Zahid Mahmood, Mohammad Rizwan (vc), Abdullah Shafique, Azhar Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Fawad Alam, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq.

And the five other reserve players are- Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Abbas, Naseem Shah, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Yasir Shah.

About selecting players for the Australian test series, the Cheif selector says, “We have opted for consistency for the prominent home series against Australia and changes have only been made where it was necessary.” “This is to give the boys confidence, reward them for their outstanding performances in the longer version of the game in 2021, and continue to build the side for the future.”

He also said, “These are the best available, most talented and in-form players in the domestic circuit. I am confident they will put up an impressive performance against a formidable Australia side.”

Pakistan’s and Australia’s preparation for their upcoming test series:

Both are looking forward to the match. Australia is the old enemy of Pakistan and so the Pak team will try their best to defeat AU. The recent change of the coach may affect the performance of AU players. They are trying to find a new coach but this will surely take a lot of time.

Australia will play three test matches, three one day and one international T-20 match with Pakistan. The first test match will start on 4 march in Rawalpindi. The next two tests match will start on 12 March and 21 March in Karachi and Lahore.

At first, some people thought AU players won’t come into Pakistan to play but now their participation creates a positive impact all over the world. Pakistan will start their training in mid-February in their capital stadium.
