The Sri Lankan Cricket Board has announced their new coaching staff to provide assistance to their new head coach ahead of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh next month.

The island country on Sunday announced four coaching staff who will be guiding their new head coach Chris Silverwood ahead of the Test series against the host Bangladesh starting on May 15 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.

Former Sri Lankan Test player and Bangladesh U-19 head coach Naveed Nawaz was named as the assistant coach for a two-year stint.

Naveed Nawaz, who had served the junior Tigers, won the Under 19 World Cup in 2020. However, following their debacle in the last ICC U-19 World Cup that was held in the West Indies, he resigned.

The SLC also announced specialist coaches as Chaminda Vaas for fast bowling, Piyal Wijetunge for a spin, and Manoj Abeywickrama for fielding coach.

The touring side are expected to arrive in Bangladesh on May 8.

The series opener will be played from May 15 to 19 at ZACS, Chattogra, while the second and series < UNK> er will take place from May 23 to 27 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium Dhaka.
