Sunil Narine new record in BPL, a half-century in just 13 balls

West Indies all-rounder Sunil Narine made a new record in Bangladesh filed last night. He is always good at batting and since the beginning of 2022 BPL, Narine is hitting all the balls. He is taking boundary shots and long shots in almost every match. And we all know West Indies are famous for their unplanned long shots.

When a team needs to win the match and it’s in the fifty-fifty situation then only a West Indies star can make the match position in their favor. In the last match, Narine take all shots very carefully and a bit recklessly. And this helped him to make a new record in BPL and broke all the past records of other players.

Last Wednesday at the Mirpur Sher E Bangla National Stadium, Comilla Victorians stepped into the field to play against Chittagong Challengers. Both teams are now on the top-ranked of the BPL leaderboard. And the loser will have to say goodbye. So, the winning fight for the match was very for both teams hard. Everyone was playing their best to participate in the final match.

Chittagong gives targets to the Comilla of 149 runs. From the beginning of batting against Chittagong, Sunil Narine was very desperate to win. At the start of the match, Comilla lost one of their best player Liton Dash. In the second ball captain, Imrul Kayes gave the strike to the Narine by taking a single run. Narine failed to touch the first ball but he got boundaries by bye runs. After that in the next three balls of leg pacer Shoriful Islam, Narine respectively made 6, 4, and 4 runs.

In the next over captain Kayes again took a single run and place Narine in the strike. This time Narine made four boundaries at a time in Mehedi Hasan Miraz balls. The first two were six, the fourth ball was four and the fifth ball was six again. But in the last ball, Narine luckily got saved from getting out lbw.

Kayes played the next two overs all by himself. In the fifth innings, Narine again comes to strike while his run was 36 in 9 balls. This time he made two boundaries 6 and 4 in the Afif Hossain ball. But in the next ball, he was able to take only one run.

In the next over first ball of Mrittunjoy Chowdhury, Narine got a six runs boundaries. And he made the record fastest half-century in BPL history within only 13 balls.

It was also the fastest half-century in Bangladesh field someone ever did. Before that Pakistan cricketer, Ahmed Shehzad had a record of doing 50 within 16 balls in BPL which was against Barisal in 2012. After doing a total of 57 runs, Sunil Narine again for a 6 in Mrittunjoy’s ball. But luck didn’t help him this time and it was a catch-out, Mrittunjoy catch the ball. Narine total made five 4 and six 6 boundaries in that match.

In the T-20 three players has the record to score 50 under 13 balls. Yuvraj Singh was the first batsman to score 50 just in 12 balls.

This success of Narine helped Comilla to play in the final. They will face Barisal in the final match which will take place tomorrow.
