The American Taylor Fritz (24) won the best title of his career by inflicting on Rafael Nadal his first defeat of 2022 in the final of Indian Wells.
American Taylor Fritz jumped 12 places in the ATP rankings published on Monday, reaching 8th place, the best ranking of his career, thanks to his victory 6-3, 7-6 (7/5) in the final of the Indian Wells tournament against Rafael Nadal.
Without playing the Californian tournament, the Serbian Novak Djokovic, meanwhile, has recovered his throne as world No. 1, which occupied since February 28 Daniil Medvedev, down a step after his elimination in the 3rd round of the American Masters 1000.

The only Frenchman with Monfils to have passed one round and even two (eliminated by Jannik Sinner in the 3rd round) in California, Benjamin Bonzi gained 4 places, to 58th in the world.
