Bangladesh skipper Tamim Iqbal believes that the way Taskin Ahmed contributed for side is surely a bigger achievement than featuring in the Indian Premier League.
Bangladesh speed star Taskin Ahmed managed a call from the IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants to play for them in the absence of Mark Wood after he had been ruled out of the contention in the midway of the three-match one-day series against South Africa.
However, the BCB didn’t permit him to take part in the star-studded tournament while a series is on.
Furthermore, they were serious to make sure of his availability in the forthcoming two-match Test series against the hosts starting on March 31 which is the part of ICC World Test Championship.
The 26-year-old also agreed with the BCB realizing that nothing could be bigger than the nation.
In the third and final one-day on Wednesday that Taskin appeared with his ruinous bowling spell that bundled out South Africa for a paltry 154 in just 37 overs that was breezed past by the touring side compensating only a wicket with 141 balls to spare.
With the win, Tigers clinched the series by 2-1 and the Tigers’ express bowler bagged a double accolade as, the player of the match as well as the player of the series.
Following the game skipper, Tamim Iqbal told Taskin Ahmed that this is your IPL and nothing could be greater than the nation.
‘Nothing could be as inspiring as playing for the motherland. I know Taskin has a great opportunity to play for IPL. It is really difficult as he is too young [Tough to ignore IPL].
‘You won’t like to miss the opportunity; however, he looks okay now and ecstatic as he has played for the nation where he could finish with his best.’
‘When he was awarded as the man of the match and player of the match I told him in the prize-giving ceremony that, this is your IPL. This is bigger than IPL and he agreed with me leave a vast shed of a smile.’
