Bangladesh Tigers are just a few hours away to script a monumental T20Is series win over their Afghanistan counterpart with the second and final match.
Bangladesh is onthe brink of a milestone against Afghanistan as they are just few hours away to clean sweep tourists for the first time in T20Is with the second and final match of the series starting at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Saturday.
The match will start at 3 pm and will broadcast live on BTV, GTV and T-Sports.
Prior to the ongoing seriesthe Tigers encountered Afghanistan in a single bilateral T20Is at Dehradun, India back in 2018 where they were clean swept by 3-0.
With the crushing 61-run victory in the opener of the two T20Is at SBNCS on Thursday now they have a golden opportunity to return the same owe to the visiting side.
On the way of this glorious mission, the Tigers must be eased as their in-form wicketkeeper batter Mushfiqur Rahim is set to be available in the contention after he had been ruled out of the first tie due to his thumb contusion.
Alongside Bangladesh Tigers’ finest wicketkeeper batter is also on-the-verge of a landmark as he is all set to join as a second cricketer of the country to play his hundred T20Is after his fellow Mahmudullah when the hosts will take on in the series decider.
He could make it in the previous game however the thumb injury appeared as an embargo.
But after a 24-hour observation BCB’s physiotherapist, Bayzidul Isam Khan confirmed that he is available for the selection in the second match and had a tremendous net session ahead of the tie on Friday.
‘Mushfiqur Rahim went through an X-ray following a hit by a ball in his right thumb. We didn’t find any fracture in his finger. Meanwhile he underwent a 24-hour observation.’
‘He batted against throw down, spin as well as pace bowling on Friday. He is fine now and he will be considered in the second T20.’
The Tigers who were going through the severe torn show in T20Is since the ICC T20 World Cup, 2021 conceding consecutive eight defeats turned around with the first T20 of the ongoing series earing a crushing 61 runon March 3 at the SBNCS.
If they can carry on the momentum and repeat the same domination clean sweeping Afghanistan is not going to be onerous task believe the cricket experts.
