Beckham Jr to rejoin Browns after injury
Odell Beckham Jr spent more than half of last season on the sidelines following a gruesome ACL tear.
The renowned wide receiver has now fully recovered and is ready to join the team.
In a recent interview, the 28-year-old opened up about the game that he wanted to dearly be part of.
“I watched [my teammates] compete last year, and the one game that hurt me the most is watching Kansas City and feeling like, man, I know that I could have made one play, just something to help the team win,” Beckham said.
The wide receiver was referring to Brown’s loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Divisional round by less than a touchdown. He seemed inspired to see Tom Brady and co-lift the Super Bowl title.
“I think that there’s something special going on. There’s something special about this city. Watching the Bucs win a championship inspires you even more. Cleveland needs a championship, and I think that’s the goal, that’s the mentality in that building and that’s what I want to be a part of.”
Baker Mayfield talks team chemistry
On Wednesday, Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield reflected on the importance of having a great bond between all players on the field.
“We have a lot of great players, and this isn’t taking anything away from them because I love these guys,’’ Mayfield said. “But it doesn’t matter who we have, if we don’t have chemistry and we don’t do our jobs, none of it matters.’’
The QB stressed how important it is for every player to be vocal and communicate with other team members to have the best results.
He added: “I’d say not taking anything for granted when it comes to chemistry. I think communication and overcommunicating just because we’re in the same system and we speak in the same terms, but you have to overcommunicate. I think that’s the most important part is leaving nothing left unsaid, and, to me, that’s where we’re at right now.”
