Green Bay Packers are the favorites in this match with Aaron Rodgers on their side. The veteran quarterback has reportedly signed a new deal with the Packers and buried the hatchet with Green Bay’s top office.

This means trouble for the Saints.

The New Orleans team is playing at home but that doesn’t mean anything to the Packers team if they turn up with the same energy they showed throughout last season.

Last season, the Packers won 37-30 against the Aints at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Future of the Hill-Winston duo in Green Bay

In a recent interview posted on Green Bay Packers’ official website, head coach Sean Payton has opened up about his plans for Taysom Hill and Jameis Winston.

“They’ve both had some really good days, they’ve both had some really good throws,” Payton said. They’ve put a ton of time in, both of them, and they’ve been fantastic working together. It’ll kind of take care of itself, I think.”

He assured that the quarterback position needs to have a regular leader, but the interview was posted before the news reports went outline that suggested a possible contract extension for Aaron Rodgers.

“Generally speaking, I think it’s important to have a stable leader in there at that position. But we’ll keep going through the process here and evaluating all the reps and how those guys are both doing,” Payton said.

If the rumors about Rodgers are true, the youngster might have to wait a bit longer to succeed the veteran QB. Taysom Hill also had something to say about the scenario.

“This year, there’s a competition between Jameis and me and who’s going to play, but the expectation for myself never changes. My routine, the things that I’m consistently working on. That sort of stuff doesn’t change from year to year.”

Hill added: “And so the way that I’ve approached this year has been different because my role is different. But from a competition standpoint, what I’m doing and how I’m working is all the same.”

As for Winston, he also seemed to have been looking forward to filling in Rodgers’ boots.

“I like to apply what we do and apply to certain concepts and I will learn better that way. So it’s been fun and I think I’m getting a good grasp of it. But obviously, my objective is to get better every single day and I know what the great head coach (can help with)…”
