New York Giants have proven in the past that they struggle in road games. They have won only seven of their last 23 away games and that speaks volumes of their inability to adjust to different conditions.
This will be a major opportunity for Ron Rivera’s men to capitalize on the Giants’ bad reputation and secure a victory at home.
This will help the hosts build momentum going forward into the contest.
What’s next for Antonio Gibson?
Antonio Gibson is an exceptional talent, but he has had some roadblocks when it comes to securing his position in the Washington Football Team.
The 23-year-old is yet to learn how to be extremely explosive as a receiver and the head coach hopes that the player will soon benefit a lot from training sessions before the regular games kick off in September.
“You guys haven’t watched enough to see, but when we’ve done our nickel periods, you see him getting a few more snaps with nickel groups. So, he’s done a nice job putting himself in position,” Rivera told reporters.
“You saw him line up as that wide receiver and beat linebackers and beat safeties and every now and then beat the nickel. Some of the stuff that we do with him is working towards creating that mismatch that you look for, that opportunity for us to put him somewhere and say, ‘Hey, we like what we got, let’s go get it.'”
Gibson also has an idea on how he can further improve himself to become a regular starter. “Situation and details of those routes… make sure I’m there where I need to be so the quarterback can find me.”
The youngster also seems impresses with Saints’ Alvin Kamara. He even admitted to watching videos of the Saints star.
“I love watching his tape and I’m seeing how he reroutes people and how he gets control of people. He does a good job with his routes and even running the ball.”
but eh 23-year-old seems determined to find other options to contribute to the team and remain useful for the offensive unit.
Perhaps, coach Rivera can even use him for third downs or to spread out the defense. Nonetheless, it will only benefit Gibson on the field.
