With the motto “Games for Everyone,” the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games started on 28th July with a grand opening ceremony. This 11-day sports gathering will draw its closing curtain on 9th August with the closing ceremony. The first day of sporting actions was on 29th July. We are already on Day 2 as of Saturday, 30th July.
The opening ceremony was held in the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham, and the same venue will provide the setting for the closing ceremony on 9th August. Cricket will be played at Edgbaston Cricket Ground. The gymnastics, basketball, beach volleyball, triathlon, hockey, squad, and marathon will all be in Birmingham city. Other sports will be in the West Midlands Region. The Basketball 3×3 and Women’s T20 Cricket are the new editions of the Commonwealth Games.
