Judo Grand Slam Abu Dhabi 2022

The Judo Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi is once again here. The annual IJF World Tour event will begin again in UAE on October 21. Here you will know the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam 2022 schedule, prize money, and watching guide.

Abu Dhabi has been an integral part of the International Judo Federation’s IJF World tour since its foundation in 2009. Every year in November, an event is held in the UAE city. At first, the event was a Judo Grand Prix tournament. In 2014, the event was promoted to the Grand Slam level.

In 2020, the event was canceled due to covid-19 pandemic. But the following year, the event returned like most other IJF World tour events. Russia took first place in the medal standings that year, with 8 total medals. Following that, GB held 2nd place with 7 medals, and Mongolia held 3rd with 5 total medals. All of these 3 countries held 2 gold medals each.

65 countries across 5 continents will participate in the upcoming 2022 edition of the Judo Grand Slam. Over 400 judoka have registered to compete in the event. The organizers have again listed various precautionary protocols regarding covid to hold the event without any issues.
