The Melbourne Cup 2021 will be held on Tuesday 2nd November at 3 pm (AEDT) at the Flemington Racecourse, Melbourne. This is Australia’s most famous horse racing event.

When and Where is the Melbourne Cup 2021?

The 2021 Melbourne Cup will take place on Tuesday, November 2. The event will start at 3 pm AEDT. If you are from another state, check your time below:

  • Queensland: 2 pm (AEST)
  • Western Australia: 12 pm (AEDT)
  • Northern Territory: 1.30 pm (AEDT)
  • South Australia: 2.30 pm (AEDT)

The event will take place at Flemington Racecourse. This is situated about 6km northwest of Melbourne. The track is six-furlong or 1200m straight and 450m long. The race will run anti-clockwise.

10,000 fans are allowed to attend the Melbourne Cup 2021. But they will have to be vaccinated with both doses of COVID-19 Vaccines.

How to Watch Melbourne Cup 2021 Live Stream?

The live streaming will be available on Sky Channel for the Foxtel sports package subscribers. The subscription fee is $29 per month. BetEasy, Ladbrokes, Sportsbet, and Crownbet, will also show the event to their registered customers.

Channel 10 has the right to broadcast the 2021 Melbourne Cup. Previously, Channel 7 had the right to broadcast the event, but the broadcasting right was transferred to Channel 10 by Victorian Racing Club.

Channel Ten’s coverage on Melbourne Cup day will commence at around 10 am (AEDT).

Prize Money:

The total prize money of the Melbourne Cup is $8 million. The winner of the event will get a total of $4.4 million, plus the 18-carat, solid gold Melbourne Cup trophy which is worth $250,000 on its own.

  • Fifth horse over the line: $230,000.
