Rugby League World Cup 2022

The Rugby League World Cup 2022 is a quadrennial international rugby competition. The event is finally set to start on 15 October after being postponed for a year due to the covid pandemic. The women’s world cup and the wheelchair competition are planned for November.

The Rugby League World Cup first started in 1954. The inaugural World Cup was hosted by France that year. Ever since the event occurred rather infrequently until 2013. The management chose to make the event a quadrennial since then. Australia won the World Cup for the 11th time in 2017.

The upcoming event will feature 16 international rugby teams separated into four groups. Additionally, Australia and New Zealand are set to return after their initial withdrawal from the event. When and Where is the Rugby League World Cup 2022?

The tournament will begin on October 15, 2022. The inaugural ceremony and first match between England and Samoa are scheduled to kick off at 09:30 a.m. ET. It will run till November 19, 2022.

The Rugby League World Cup is being held in England this year. They previously co-hosted the tournament with Wales in 2013. The event will take place over 21 different venues across the country.

Fox League and Kayo Sports have exclusive distribution rights to the 2022 Rugby League World Cup. At the same time, Spark Sports NZ will broadcast all league games in New Zealand. Additionally, matches will be aired on BBC TV via BBC One, BBC Two, and BBC Three for international fans.
