The World Rugby Sevens Series is hosting the 24th annual season as the XXIV series this year. A total of 11 events are scheduled for the ongoing calendar, of which 6 have already taken place successfully. The widely popular Canada Sevens Vancouver, also known as Rugby Sevens Vancouver, will be the 7th event of this season.

The Canada Sevens has been a regular part of the annual Rugby Sevens calendar since 2016. Upcoming Rugby Sevens Vancouver 2023 will mark the 8th edition of the event. It will launch this Friday in Vancouver and will run for 3 days. Like the other events of this season, It will act as a qualifier for the upcoming 2024 Olympic games.

A total of 24 international rugby sevens teams are competing in the ongoing season. Of that 24 teams, 18 have successfully qualified to participate in the upcoming Vancouver Sevens tournament. Group distribution has already been published also. The tournament will maintain a group stage competition followed by a playoff stage.

New Zealand is currently leading the 2022-23 season in the leaderboard with 107 points. They have successfully won the Sydney and Los Angeles events in a consecutive manner. Behind them is Argentina in 2nd place with 86 points and a win at Hamilton. With the same amount of points as Argentina, South Africa is sitting in 3rd position.
