The ATP Tour heads to Spain this week for the inaugural edition of the Gijon Open. This ATP 250 event is one of two this week, taking place from 10-16 Oct. in Gijon, Spain. Players and Top Seeds
World No. 9 and the Russian star Andrey Rublev headlines the tournament and will play as the top seed. The 24-year-old is in good touch, coming off the last 4 of the Astana Open. He reached the quarter-finals of the U.S. Open this year. Rublev will be keen to grab his 4th title this year – after winning in Marseille, Dubai, and Belgrade.
Pablo Carreno Busta will be the home hope and play as the 2nd seed. World No. 15 Spaniard won the Canadian Open Masters this year. The 31-year-old will look to clinch his home title.
Roberto Bautista Agut and Francisco Cerundolo complete the top 4 seeds. The top 4 seeds will get a first-round bye.

Andy Murray and Dominic Thiem are among the other notable players in the main draw of the Gijon Open.
Tommy Paul, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Sebastian Baez, and Albert Ramos Vinolas are also among the seeded players and will have a say in the title.
Gijon Open 2022 Main Draw
Andrey Rublev (1) and Francisco Cerundolo (4) anchor the top half of the draw and could face off in the semi-finals.
Rublev awaits the winner of Ilya Ivashka vs Feliciano Lopez to begin his tournament in the Round of 16. The Russian could meet Tommy Paul (5) in the last 8.
The 5th seed American Tommy Paul beat M Landaluce in the First Round by 6-3, 6-0 sets.
Dominic Thiem is also in the top half. The 2020 U.S. Open Grand Slam champion Thiem is off to a good start, winning the First-Round by 6-2, 6-0 against Joao Sousa.

Dominic Thiem could face Ramos-Vinolas (8) in the Second Round and Cerundolo (4) in the last 8.
Carreno Busta (2) and Bautista Agut (3) have landed in the bottom half of the draw and the Spaniards could meet in the semi-finals.
Busta will play his opener against Thiago Monteiro (BRA) in the Second Round. Frenchman Constant Lestienne knocked out the 7th seed Baez in the First Round and could meet Carreno Busta in the last 8.
Bautista Agut awaits the winner of J Munar (ESP) vs S Korda (USA) in the Second Round. He could meet former world no. 1 Andy Murray or A D Fokina (8) in the last 8.

The main draw of the Gijon Open 2022 will begin on Monday, 10 Oct. Quarter-finals and Semifinals will be held on Friday and Saturday respectively. The tournament will wrap up with the men’s singles final on Sunday.
