Today we were up to one of the most important matches in tennis history and the outcome was surely not the expected. Medvedev won his first Grand Slam title by defeating Novak Djokovic last night. As we all know the 2021 US Open main draw runs from August 30 – September 12 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Meanwhile, No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic looks to complete the Calendar Grand Slam after winning the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon already this year. But he couldn’t be able to make it unfortunately .World no. 1 ranking holder , Djokovic’s loose in this game bring really a shock to tennis lovers and his fans also because his chances of winning the final is far more than Daniil Medvedev. So, obviously it’s an emotional moment for Djokovic fans.

By approaching Medvedev, Novak told that, “If there is anyone who deserves a Grand Slam title right now, it is you. Well done. There will be many more titles to come, I’m sure.” Djokovic lost the opportunity to achieve further title and championship.

Time is such a mystery, anytime the path can be changed. Two years ago, Medvedev had to face such an emotional moment after the men’s singles final in New York. And this time Djokovic has to face this. On the other hand first grand slam winner Medvedev said, “I want to thank my team, those who are here and watching. My parents, my family, my sisters. Some of my friends are here too,” said Medvedev, who dropped only one set in the tournament. “Thank you guys because it is not an easy journey to win a Slam. I’m really thankful to you for helping me throughout this journey,” after the match. Daniil Medvedev makes his own history at the US Open with the 1st major title.

Why Djokovic lost his 4th Grand Slam?

I think pretty much all of us were expecting a tough four or five setter but Daniil Medvedev dominated Djokovic to deny him his Golden Slam. Apart from the 2 service games at the beginning of the second set, Medvedev have dominated Djokovic on it’s serve. On the other side, Djokovic did not serve as good as he would have wanted to and had a very bad start being broken in the first game of the first set. For the first time we saw Djokovic being overwhelmed in pressure. In the few key moments of the match you could feel Djokovic was especially nervous even missing some very easy shots. There were three or four occasions where Medvedev played a bad drop shot and Djokovic missed an easy shot.

All of these misses and important moments. The pressure was just too much. Also in this match Djokovic looked completely lost from midway in second set till the end of the match. As the match went on he was not able to figure out how to win points against Medvedev. On the other hand, Russian player Medvedev was solid as always. He did not give Djokovic’s angles to work with . He played very long with such amazing movement and defense and made Djokovic struggle so much to win points with his shots. In the second and third set Djokovic was not as effective at the net. In conclusion Medvedev was so good in neutralizing Djokovic at all aspects of the game. He struggled to close the match in the third set but overall I think his performance was absolutely magnificent.

So, anyways I hope you enjoy our article. We have reached at the end of our today’s topic. We try to provide all accurate information regarding this match in a bit hurry. Hope we could be able to help you. Have a nice day.
