From the mid-2021, tennis and all sports world started again their journey after a long gap for Covid-19 pandemic situation. Since then Novak Djokovic has faced many problems. Still, he is out of the world’s most prestigious tournaments.
His decision not to get vaccination caused him so much trouble. He sacrificed his ranked, title, world record, and many other things just to stand on his statement. If we take it this way, he is a man of word and will never kneel before anything. That makes kinda disobedient, reckless, some people admire this kinda behavior, and some dislike this.
Recently, Djokovic fall into another problem. Like the previous time, he pulled out of tournaments. Novak Djokovic won’t be able to play at the Indian Wells and Miami Open in 2022. Both are the most important and biggest tournaments in tennis after the grand slam. They say BNP Paribas Open is the fifth grand slam. So, not being able to play at the BNP Paribas will affect Djokovic’s career. It also raises the question that when he will be able to play again in big tournaments.
Will Djokovic play at the Indian Wells? this question was everyone’s mind for the last few months. And there was a huge possibility that he may return to the court by participating in the BNP Paribas Open. Everyone was almost sure about his joining in the California desert cause they added Djokovic’s name on the entry list. He was also included in the main draw for competing in the Indian Wells.
Then Miami ATP Masters 1000 tournament also enlisted Novak’s name on their competitor’s list. So, everyone thought this time we may see the world’s most dangerous tennis star on the court after a long time. But Novak’s pulled out of Indian Wells and Miami ATP Masters drowned everyone’s expectation.
Novak wasn’t sure either about his joining in the Indian Wells. He knew from the beginning that something might go wrong anytime as the US doesn’t allow outside players who aren’t vaccinated.
Djokovic says, “While I was automatically listed in the BNP Paribas Open and Miami Open draw I knew it would be unlikely I’d be able to travel.”
“The CDC has confirmed that regulations won’t be changing so I won’t be able to play in the US. Good luck to those playing in these great tournaments.”
When will Novak Djokovic return?
When will Novak Djokovic be able to return to the tennis court, is a mystery. Nothing can be said for sure. But he has a chance to return in court in April. In April, Monte-Carlo Masters will take place. This tournament is based in France. And France government says they will reduce restrictions on mandatory vaccination and international travel from March 14. So, most probably we will see the world’s best tennis player again after a month.
Novak had sacrificed a lot for not taking the vaccine. He lost his number one ranked position, he wasn’t able to defend his title in the AU Open and many others. Rafael Nadal warned him that not getting the vaccination will affect his career but Djokovic didn’t listen to anyone.
