The 21-time Grand Slam champions Novak Djokovic is having a magnificent season. The Serb has already won three titles this year despite being prohibited in Australia and America due to his unvaccinated status against Covid.

Djokovic has won the Italian Open and Wimbledon Grand Slam this year, and most recently the Tel Aviv Open last week.

He was too strong for Karen Khachanov in the last round and beat him by 6-4, 6-3 to reach the last 4.

Djokovic previously beat Cristian Garin 6-1, 6-1 in the First Round and Van de Zandschulp 6-3, 6-1 in the Round of 16.

On the other hand, Daniil Medvedev is yet to drop any set in the Astana Open like his opponent. He cruised past Roberto Bautista Agut by 6-1, 6-1 last round to set up a blockbuster semi-final against Novak Djokovic.

Medvedev previously defeated Albert Ramos Vinolas 6-3, 6-1 in the opening round and Emil Ruusuvuori 6-3, 6-2 in the Round of 16.

The 26-year-old is on a 40-16 record this season. His only title this year came in the Los Cabos Open. Medvedev is fresh off a surprise defeat in the opening round against Stan Wawrinka in September’s Moselle Open.

The Russian star finished three runners-up in the Australian Open, Libema Open, and Halle Open this year.

The winner of this match will face the winner of Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Andrey Rublev in the Final on Sunday.
