Match Preview
The 21-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic will look for his fourth title this year in the Astana Open. He’s already won the Italian Open and the 2022 Wimbledon.
The 35-year-old Serb is fresh off winning last week’s Tel Aviv Open and all set to add another title to his illustrious career.
Djokovic got the better of Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals. World No. 4 Medvedev drew the first blood to take the opening set by 6-4. Both of them defended their serves well in the second set before Djokovic leveled the match in a tie-breaker 7-6(6). However, Medvedev’s run ended there, unfortunately sustaining an injury.
Djokovic previously beat Cristian Garin 6-1, 6-1 in the First Round, Van de Zandschulp 6-3, 6-1 in the Round of 16, and Karen Khachanov 6-4, 6-3 in the quarter-finals.
On the other hand, world no. 6 Stefanos Tsitsipas took down world no. 9 Andrey Rublev to reach the Astana Open Final.
Tsitsipas lost the only set in the tournament to fall behind 4-6 against Rublev in the opening set. The Greek star bounced back in the second set to win it by 6-4. In the decisive set, Tsitsipas won the last three games to seal the match by 4-6, 6-4, and 6-3.
The 24-year-old will look for his third title this year after winning Monte Carlo Masters and Mallorca Open. He also finished runner-up in the Italian Open, falling short to Djokovic.
Head-to-Head
Djokovic leads 7-2 against Tsitsipas in their previous nine head-to-head meetings. The two met in the Italian Open final this year, with Djokovic winning by straight sets.

Djokovic vs Tsitsipas Prediction
Djokovic has been in magnificent form. He is fresh off winning the Tel Aviv Open. The 35-year-old is on an 8-match winning streak and gunning for his 90th career title, fourth this year.
It would be difficult for Tsitsipas to stop the Serb. However, the Greek star has been serving well in the tournament. He dropped only a set, in his three-set win in the semi-final against Rublev.
However, Tsitsipas is on a 6-match losing streak against Djokovic, winning against him in 2019. Tsitsipas needs to be his very best against Djokovic, who is excellent in his return game.
We are going with Novak Djokovic to win yet another title. Djokovic in three sets.
