Since the return of Rafael Nadal from injuries, he stayed unbeatable and unstoppable. From the beginning of 2022, Nadal is dominating all the tennis tournaments. Yet now, no one succeeds to defeat the boss. He is really enjoying this imperium in the tennis world.

Nadal’s performance is telling the world that he is back again to dominate world tennis. He is currently playing in the Indian Wells Masters where last night he reached the semifinal. That was a great match and everybody enjoyed the clash between Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios and Rafael Nadal.

By defeating Kyrgios, Nadal reached the semifinals of the Indian Wells. By reaching the semifinals Nadal broke his own record for playing in the Masters 1000 semifinal most of the time. He will appear in his 76th semifinals by competing in the semifinals of the BNP Paribas Open. That’s not the only record Nadal made from the game. He also made a record of playing the second-longest hard-court winning streak of his career.

Since the invention of the Masters 1000 tournament in 1990, no one ever reached the semifinals for the 76th time. Novak Djokovic is in the second position on that list. He played 71 semifinals of the Masters 1000 event in his career. He could have played this time too but BNP Paribas later withdraw his name for not taking vaccination against Covid-19. Roger Federer reached the semifinals 66 times and he is in the third position on the list.

Nadal won that match by 7-6 (0), 5-7, 6-4 points. He stayed unbeaten for 19 matches after defeating the Australian star. At the beginning of the game, Kyrgios was pushing hard. He was in the advantage game by 2-1 and then again 5-3. But in the third set, Nadal made it even by 5-5 points.

For the whole game, Nadal was playing technically and slowly. Kyrgios throw his rackets two times in the match, first when Nadal’s winner clipped the tape to begin the next game and second after shaking hands with Nadal at the end of the match.

Nadal says about the match, “I think I played a good third set. I was returning better, I was solid with my serve. Nick is one of these players that you’re going to have problems with when he’s motivated, so I’m happy for the victory.”

Rafael Nadal’s semifinal match in Indian Wells against Alcaraz:

Nadal will face a teenage boy for his semifinal match in the BNP Paribas Open. Alcaraz Garcia is also from Spain. He beat Norrie in the quarter-final by 6-4, 6-3. Alcaraz says, “It’s tough to play Rafa, but I will enjoy the day, enjoy the match. It’s not every day you play your idol.” He reached the semifinal of the Masters 1000 event for the first time.

Nadal praised Alcaraz’s performance. He says, “I think he’s unstoppable in terms of his career. He has all the ingredients, the passion. He’s humble enough to work hard.”

“He’s going to be a great rival for now and for the next couple of months, without a doubt. Being selfish, it’s great to have such a star from my country … I wish him all the very best.”
