Next up for Rafael Nadal is world no. 26 Frances Tiafoe, with a quarter-final spot on the line. It will be the first fourth-round match for the American in the US Open Tennis and against his toughest opponent this year.
Tiafoe also made a fourth-round run in Wimbledon this year and will look to go deeper on his home soil.
The 24-year-old has been quite impressive in this tournament and has yet to lose a set in three matches. He has dispatched Marcos Giron, Jason Kubler, and 14th seed Diego Schwartzman.
