Tel Aviv Open 2022: Players and Men’s Draw

Former World No. 1 and 21-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic headlines the event. The Serb is returning to the tour after missing a couple of Masters and Grand Slam in North America. He was unable to participate due to his unvaccinated status against the Covid.

Djokovic is coming fresh off last week’s Laver Cup and will play as the top seed. 2014 US Open champion Marin Cilic, World No. 17 Diego Schwartzman, and World No. 34 Maxime Cressy complete the top four seeds.

The top 4 seeds have received a bye into the Second Round (Round of 16).

Botic van de Zandschulp, Aslan Karatsev, Adrian Mannarino, and Tallon Griekspoor complete the top 8 seeds. 2020 US Open winner Dominic Thiem was awarded a wildcard, along with Hamad Mededovic and Yshai Oliel.

Men’s Draw:

Novak Djokovic (1) and Diego Schwartzman (3) anchor the top half of the draw and could meet each other in the last 4.

Djokovic’s quarter-final opponent could be Griekspoor (8). On the other hand, Schwartzman’s opponent in the last 8 could be Aslan Karatsev (6).

Marin Cilic (2) and Maxime Cressy (4) anchor the bottom half of the draw. Cilic’s potential quarter-final opponent could be Botic van de Zandschulp (5).

Dominic Thiem will play Laslo Djere in the First Round. The winner will face Cilic in the Second Round.

On the other hand, Maxime Cressy’s opponent in the last 8 could be Adrian Mannarino (7).


The main draw of the Tel Aviv Open 2022 will begin on Monday, 26 Sept. The quarter-finals and semifinals will be held on Friday and Saturday respectively. The tournament will wrap up with the men’s singles final on Sunday.

The total prize money for this year’s competition is $949,475. The winner will take home a lucrative $144,415 with 250 ranking points.
