Players and Top Seeds
The defending champion and the former world no. 1 Simona Halep will be the big miss in this year’s Transylvania Open. However, some other home players will be on the field, led by the in-form Ana Bogdan.
But no one is in better form than Barbora Krejcikova. The former world no. 2 and Grand Slam champion headlines the field and will play as the top seed. She is fresh off winning back-to-back titles in Tallinn Open and Ostrava Open. She took down world no. 1 and U.S. Open champion Iga Swiatek this weekend and clinched the Ostrava ATP 500.

Transylvania Open 2022 Main Draw
Barbora Krejcikova (1) and Ana Bogdan (3) anchor the top half of the draw and could face off in the semi-finals.
Romanian players are all in the top half of the draw. Ana Bogdan will take on Jule Niemeier in her big opener. Niemeier reached the second week in both the U.S. Open and Wimbledon this year. Ana Bogdan is 16-4 in her previous 20 matches.
Krejcikova will open against Dalma Galfi and could face Xiyu Wang (7) in the last 8.

Kalinina (2) and Potapova (4) anchor the bottom half of the draw. Kalinina faces Eugenie Bouchard in the First Round and could meet Magda Linette (5) in the last 8. Potapova opens against Ann Li (USA).
Schedule
The main draw of the Transylvania Open 2022 will begin on Monday, 10 Oct. Quarter-finals and Semifinals will be held on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The tournament will wrap up with the women’s singles final on Sunday.
Prize Money
The total prize money for this year’s competition is $251,750. The winner of the women’s singles will take home a lucrative $33,200 with 280 ranking points.
