The WTA singles leading Iga Swiatek is the first seed of the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championship 2023 event. She recently reached a record 40th consecutive week of leading the women’s worldwide standings. This month, Swiatek successfully defended her WTA 500 title at the Qatar Open.
The Belarusian professional Aryna Sabalenka is the second lead of the event. She is currently ranked 2nd in WTA singles. Sabalenka won her career first grand slam singles title at the Australian Open this year. She is also the only 3rd Belarusian woman to do so.
The third seed in Dubai this week is Jessica Pegula. The American professional is ranked 4th in the WTA singles standings. For three consecutive years, including 2023, she has been a quarterfinalist at the Australian Open singles. Pegula also helped the American team win the inaugural United Cup title, where she beat the current world-ranked 1st Iga Swiatek.
