College Career
Oubre played 1 season of college basketball at Kansas in 2014-15 before declaring for the NBA draft.
As a freshman, he played in all 36 games, starting 27 of them. He averaged 9.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.4 blocks and 1.1 steals in 21.0 minutes per game.

Oubre spent his first 3 NBA seasons (2015-2018) with the Washington Wizards. With the Wizards in 2017-18, he scored a then career-high 26 points in a game against the Detroit Pistons.
On December 17, 2018, Oubre was traded to the Phoenix Suns. He had his best statistical season in 2019-20 with the Suns, averaging 18.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists and shooting 45.2% from the field.
