André Morgan Rami Ayew, commonly known as Dede Ayew in Ghana, was born on December 17, 1989.

He is a professional football player from Ghana who now plays on the left wing for Premier League team Nottingham Forest and serves as captain of the Ghanaian national team.

He has two brothers who are also professional players, Ibrahim and Jordan, and he is the second child of three-time African Footballer of the Year and FIFA 100 member Abedi “Pele” Ayew.

Ayew was selected as the Ghanaian and African Footballer of the Year by the BBC in 2011. He has participated in seven Africa Cup of Nations matches and three FIFA World Cups (2010, 2014, and 2022).

Early Life

Ayew’s father played at 1860 München, where he started his career. Ayew began playing at 10 for Nania in Accra, Ghana, where his father serves as club chairman.

At the age of 14, he was promoted to the team’s senior squad after spending four years honing his craft at the club’s junior program.

He played in youth-sponsored competitions even though he was a senior team member, including the 2004 Altstetten U-19 Tournament, when he was named one of the competition’s most well-known players.

After he had signed a two-year contract with an option for another year, the club made the announcement of his transfer and made him public on July 22.

According to reports, he would make about $220,000 per month. 39 years after his father Abedi Pele signed with the team and began playing for them in 1983, he became a member.

The Black Stars’ current captain is Ayew. Ayew was included in Ghana’s final 28-man roster for the postponed 2021 Africa Cup of Nations on January 3, 2022.
