Brandon Allen was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to parents Bobby and Marcela Allen. His father is the Razorbacks’ director of high school and NFL relations, and his younger brother, Austin, is a sophomore quarterback at Arkansas.
Allen attended Fayetteville High School, where he threw for 3,408 yards and 38 touchdowns as a senior. He was ranked by Rivals.com as the fifth-best pro-style quarterback recruit and the No. 3 prospect in the state by HawgSports.com.
College Career
Allen played college football at the University of Arkansas from 2011 to 2015. He was redshirted as a freshman in 2011 and served as the backup to Tyler Wilson in 2012.
In 2013, Allen took over as the starting quarterback, passing for 1,552 yards, completing 49.6 percent of his throws, and throwing for 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
As a junior in 2014, Allen had 2,285 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and five interceptions. During his senior year in 2015, Allen threw for 3,440 passing yards, 30 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.
