Giorgi began playing tennis at a young age. Her father introduced her to tennis when she is five years old. She began playing in a neighborhood club. In November 2005, she made it to the NIKE Junior Tour final after receiving a seven-month training offer from coach Nick Bollettieri. Unfortunately, Zuzana Luknarova defeated her in that final. She competed in the Say Development Cup final and the Astrid Bowl round of 16 in Belgium.
