Desmond From 1978 through 1994, Leo Haynes, a former cricketer and current cricket coach from Barbados, played for the West Indies cricket team. On February 15, 1956, he was born.
Haynes preferred a more methodical approach to batting and amassed 7,487 runs at an average of 42.29 in 116 Test matches. His highest Test innings, of 184 against England in 1980, was also his most successful.
He was one of the rare Test batsmen to be dismissed after handling the ball when he was facing India on November 24, 1983. He is also among the few cricketers scoring a century on his ODI debut.

His 148 against Australia in a One-Day International at Antigua cemented his reputation on the international stage, and up until recently, Haynes held several ODI records, including the most runs and most centuries.
Haynes scored 854 runs at 37.13 with three fifty-plus scores and one century in the 25 World Cup games. Haynes is one of just two players in ODI cricket history to have struck a century in both their debut and last game, the other being English batsman Dennis Amiss, as of December 10, 2013.
