Dusan Tadic was born on 20 November 1988 in Backa Topola, SR Serbia, Yugoslavia. Tadic played youth football for his hometown club, AIK Backa Topola, and Vojvodina, and made his senior debut for Vojvodina in 2006.
After four seasons at Vojvodina, Tadic joined Groningen in 2010. He played 68 games and scored 14 goals for the club before joining Twente in 2012.
