About Emilio Gomez
Emilio Gomez was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador on November 28, 1991. His father taught him how to play tennis from when he was six years old until he was eighteen.
He then went to Florida to train with Nick Bollettieri at the IMG Academy. He turned pro in 2013, and since then, he has mostly played on the ATP Challenger Tour.

Emilio Gomez was born to a sports family. His father, Eduardo Gomez, was a professional tennis player who played for Ecuador at the Davis Cup.
His mom, Maria del Carmen, was also a tennis player. Gomez started playing tennis when he was four and quickly showed potential. He won his first national title at the age of 12 and went on to win several more titles as a youth.
Career
Emilio Gomez first played for Ecuador in the Davis Cup in 2010. Since then, he has been a regular part of the team. He has a 17–13 record in Davis Cup matches and has helped Ecuador get to the World Group playoffs twice, in 2015 and 2020.
Emilio Gomez won his first ITF Futures tournament in Colombia in 2012 and his first ATP Challenger tournament in Tallahassee, Florida, in 2019.
He also won two gold medals at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada. In men’s doubles, he teamed up with Roberto Quiroz, and in mixed doubles, he teamed up with Gonzalo Escobar.
