About Haris Seferovic
On February 22, 1992, Haris Seferovic was born. He is a Swiss professional football player who currently plays as a striker for the Switzerland national team and La Liga club Celta while on loan from Portuguese club Benfica.
In April 2009, Seferovic made his professional debut at Grasshopper. The Italian team Fiorentina quickly signed him, in January 2010.
He spent a large portion of his career at the latter club on loan, first enjoying success at Novara in Serie B before moving to Real Sociedad in Spain in 2013.
He joined Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany a year later, where he played for three seasons before moving on to Benfica in Portugal.
As the squad won the Primeira Liga in 2018–19, he appeared in over 180 games and scored 70 goals for the club, earning the Bola de Prata award for top scorer.
Career
Seferovic started his career in 1999 on the FC Sursee youth team, and five years later he signed with Luzern in the summer of 2004. He spent three years in their development levels before being discovered by Grasshopper.
On April 26, 2009, he faced Neuchâtel Xamax on his Swiss Super League debut. He received the Lucerne canton’s Youth Player of the Year award in January 2010.
Seferovic won the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Nigeria with the Swiss under-17 national team and finished the competition with the most goals.
At the competition, he scored five goals, including the game-winning goal against the hosts Nigeria in the championship match.
