Early Life & Career
Roshon Felix Romar Jordan van Eijma was born on June 9, 1998, in Tilburg, a city in the southern Netherlands.
Despite holding Curaçaoan nationality, he grew up and developed as a footballer entirely in the Dutch football system.
His early years in the sport were spent at Willem II, one of Tilburg’s two professional clubs, where he trained through the academy until 2016.
At 18, Van Eijma made the move to Roda JC Kerkrade, another well-established Dutch club with a proud history in the Eredivisie.
He spent two years in Roda’s youth setup before earning promotion to the senior squad in 2018.
That transition into professional football marked a turning point — from academy prospect to a player capable of competing in the Dutch second tier week in, week out.
His upbringing in Tilburg, a city with deep footballing roots and a working-class culture, shaped the no-nonsense defensive style that has defined his senior career.
He is right-footed but versatile enough to operate at left-back when required, a flexibility that has helped him maintain regular squad involvement across multiple clubs.
Professional Career
Van Eijma made his professional debut for Roda JC Kerkrade on September 28, 2018, in an Eerste Divisie fixture against SC Cambuur.
He went on to make 17 appearances in his debut season and followed that up with 14 games in the 2019/20 campaign — a solid foundation for a young centre-back learning the professional game.
In September 2020, he made his first move abroad, signing with German side Preußen Münster in the Regionalliga West.
His debut there was a tough one — he received a straight red card inside the first hour against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen.
However, he showed resilience and went on to play 11 games for the club that season, contributing to their Westphalian Cup triumph in 2020/21 — the one major honour of his professional career to date.
His contract with Preußen Münster was terminated by mutual agreement in August 2021.
The club’s sporting director, Peter Niemeyer, cited the challenge of accommodating international call-ups for a Regionalliga side, given Van Eijma’s regular selection for the Curaçao national team.
Ten days later, he signed with TOP Oss in the Eerste Divisie — and it was there that he truly flourished.
Between 2021 and 2024, Van Eijma played 92 league appearances for TOP Oss, scoring 8 goals and delivering consistent performances across three full seasons.
He matured into one of the Eerste Divisie’s reliable defenders, particularly effective in the 2023/24 season when he contributed 5 goals in 36 appearances — an exceptional return for a centre-back.
He signed with RKC Waalwijk on a free transfer, bringing him back to an established Dutch club with Eredivisie ambitions.
He has worn the number 3 shirt and been a regular starter, continuing to represent Curaçao on the international stage as well, racking up 25 FIFA-sanctioned international appearances and 1 international goal as of 2026.
