Alexander Barr Scottish professional golfer Walter Lyle MBE was born on February 9, 1958. Lyle has won two significant awards over his professional career. Together with Nick Faldo and Ian Woosnam, he advanced to become one of Britain’s top players of the 1980s.

At the 1978 Nigerian Open, where he also won the Sir Henry Cotton Cup as the season’s top European Rookie, he earned his first professional triumph.
