Early Career
Viviane Pereira was born in Tauá, Ceará, Brazil, and began her martial arts journey at a young age. She started training in Sanda (Chinese boxing) and Jiu-Jitsu around the age of 12. Her talent was evident early on, and she quickly transitioned to mixed martial arts, turning professional in 2013.
Fighting primarily on the Brazilian regional circuit, Pereira built an impressive undefeated record. She captured titles in promotions like Bitetti Combat and XFC International, where she won the strawweight tournament and championship.
Her dominance in Brazil, racking up a perfect 11-0 record, caught the attention of the UFC, which signed her in 2016 as one of the top strawweight prospects in the world.
Professional Career
Pereira made her UFC debut in December 2016 against former title challenger Valérie Létourneau, winning via split decision in a massive upset. She followed this up with a victory over Jamie Moyle, extending her unbeaten streak to 13-0.
However, consecutive losses to Tatiana Suarez and Yan Xiaonan—both future top contenders—led to her release from the promotion in 2018.
Following her UFC exit, Pereira faced significant adversity. She competed in Invicta FC but struggled with weight cuts and personal issues.
In 2020, she took a hiatus from the sport due to pregnancy and personal conflicts with her former coach and partner. She returned to competition in 2023, reinventing herself in higher weight classes.
In 2024 and 2025, she competed in XFC and Superior Challenge, earning victories over DeAnna Bennett and challenging for the bantamweight title, proving her fighting spirit remains unbroken.
