At the Italian Open on clay, he qualified for his first Masters 1000 and beat Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the first round. He then beat world No. 2 Daniil Medvedev in three sets to get to the third round, where he lost to Diego Schwartzman.

He got another wild card for the Lyon Open and won his first ATP title at age 18 to make history. He beat Lorenzo Musetti, seventh seed Ugo Humbert, third seed Aslan Karatsev, and second seed Felix Auger-Aliassime to get to the final, where he beat top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in three sets.
