Dahmen was born on November 11, 1987, in Clarkston, Washington. He played college golf at the University of Washington. In high school, he became a two-time champion at the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association 3A state event.
In 2010, Dahmen turned pro after achieving a PGA Tour Canada card via Winter Q School. Made his pro debut at the Corona Mazatlán Mexican PGA Championship.
