In 2012, he played his first match on the ATP Challenger Tour in Marburg, Germany. There, he made it to the semifinals.
His second Challenger title was in Poprad-Tatry, Slovakia, where he beat Horacio Zeballos in the final. He qualified for his first Grand Slam main draw at the French Open but lost to David Ferrer.
