From Yamal to Endrick

The 2026 World Cup in the United States of America, Canada, and Mexico has begun. The stakes are high as ever when the best international teams meet at the biggest stage.

While the World Cup is usually dominated by the most experienced players who have the needed experience at top international tournaments, this time around we feel like it might be a different story.

When you take a look at the top young prospects that will appear at the 2026 WC representing the flag and sigil, you’ll share our opinion too.

These are the players that could make their fans proud and bring glory to their respective nation.

Lamine Yamal-Spain

At only 18 years of age, Lamine Yamal is already one of the best players in the world. Barcelona was waiting for Messi’s successor only a few short years, that appeared like ages for Barca fans.

Lamine rose through ranks at La Masia and after making first team debut under Xavi he never looked back, and is undoubtedly the best Barcelona player by a mile. When it comes to taking players one on one and going past them, no one comes close to Yamal.

He is a joy to watch, and with 0.6 goal contributions per game during the past season he is one of the world’s best.

The most interesting part is that he already took home international glory with Spain after winning EUROs in 2024.

The only issue with Yamal heading into the World Cup is that he suffered an injury late in the season, so his fitness will be questionable in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

If he’s healthy and close to being fully fit, he will certainly replicate his season long form that accumulated 16 goals and 11 assists in 28 appearances during the 2025/26 season.

Jude Bellingham-England

The best players in the world played in La Liga during the last two decades, and not much has changed in the present. It comes as no surprise that another massive football talent sells his trade in Spain.

This time around we have 22 year old Bellingham from real Madrid representing England at the biggest stage.

His midfield presence is one of a kind, and after a successful stint with BVB, Jude is now one of the main players in post Modric and Kroos’ Real Madrid.

Bellingham is a midfield maestro who can change the course of any game both with his assists, superb passing, but also by getting into good positioning in the final third, which is witnessed with his goal tally for both club and country.

Together with Harry Kane, Jude is going to be the main cog in Thomas Tuchel’s machine from England.

Jamal Musiała-Germany

What could have been? Musiala was close to choosing England as a nation to represent at the international level. Yet, the decision to represent Germany turned out to be the right one, as he has become one of the best players in the world playing for Bayern Munich and Germany.

His vision and understanding of the game is at the highest level and he can split any defence, and make a difference even against the sturdiest of defences.

Last season was one of his best despite having injury issues, as he averaged 2 goals per 3 matches in the Bundesliga.

If you look at stats such as xG, Jamal leads the way with xG of 1.62 across a three game stretch, making him a danger for opponents even if he’s not playing as a striker.

Certainly one of the young players that could elevate their game to a new level during this tournament.

Warren Zaire-Emery-France

France is one of the favourites to win the 2026 World Cup according to online football odds. They have depth at every position, and the only thing stopping Warren Zaire-Emery to shine his brightest is the fact that he might not be getting too many minutes.

What works in his favour is that he knows how to win, as PSGs youngster has been playing at the highest level for years now and with 20 years of age already has league titles, cups, and even Champions League under his belt with PSG.

Also, he can play across different positions in the team, starting from the midfield, on the wing, and in wide positions in defence. Thanks to his versatility he will have minutes for Les Bleus.

During the league season, he has had an amazing number of 93.7% passing accuracy and has created 37 chances for teammates on the year. Even as one of the youngest players in this French team, he deserves a spot even in the first 11.

Endrick-Brazil

If someone told you twenty years ago that today, Brazil will not be going to a World Cup led by one of the world’s best strikers, you’d find it hard to believe. Yet, the days of Ronaldo, Romario, Rivaldo, Adriano, and Ronaldinho are behind us.

Today, Brazil doesn;t have a true No9 on their team. That prolific striker who scores from half an opportunity. They don’t even have a true ‘magico’ like Ronaldinho was. Nothing even remotely close to R10 and R9.

The closest thing, and one of the biggest Brazilian hopes today is Endrick. While the latest Brazil wunderkind failed to find his footing in Madrid, playing for Real, he did enough on loan at Lyon to get a call up from Don Carlo.

He is expected to start in the Brazil attack next to Vini Jr. In six months playing for Lyon, Endrick has managed to score 5 goals and create 7 more in 16 appearances, even coming into conversations for Ligue 1 best player despite only being in France for six months.

Florian Wirtz-Germany

Wirtz was the main player during Bayer Leverkusen’s undefeated title run. After completing that feat, he moved to Liverpool in a record breaking transfer.

While he had a subpar first year in the Premier League, no one can argue that Florian is one of the best players in the world, and by far the best creator in this Germany team.

The issue with Wirtz, and the fact that he is often overlooked when we look at the best young players in the world, is that he has been on the biggest stage for years now.

He made his debut for Bayer when he was 17 years and 15 days old, making him the youngest Bayer debutant ever.

Today, he is one of the world’s most expensive players, and the leader of Germany’s national team. Despite all of that, he is only 22 years old and his best years lie ahead of him.

Gilberto Mora-Mexico

Representing your nation at a World Cup it’s hosting is an honour for every player. Gilberto Mora will receive this honour at only 17 years of age.

The attacking midfielder is one of the best prospects Mexico has had in recent years, and he comes to the WC after an amazing start of his career for Tijuana.

His rise to prominence started at the last Under 20 World Cup, where he attracted the attention of European powerhouses such as Real Madrid and Manchester City.

The Mexican press loves the boy and he has already been nicknamed The Mexican Pedri, The Mexican Pearl, and Crackito, which means Little Maestro. If you plan on scouting players during this World Cup, More is one to pay attention to.

Among all players called up for the WC, Mora is the youngest, and he already made his debut vs. South Africa, coming on in the second half of the game in the 66th minute.

Mora already made history by becoming the youngest ever player to start a game for Mexico after he made his debut aged 16.

The more Mexico progresses in this tournament, expect more and more minutes by Mora as the world is his to conquer and he started on the right foot.

Nico Paz-Argentina

Argentina loves to rely on its most experienced players, and it’s no secret that this approach will once again be used by Lionel Scaloni. That doesn’t mean that there will not be minutes for Nico Paz.

During the past season, Paz was one of the best players in Serie A, playing for Como on loan from Real Madrid. Nico is an ideal option for Scaloni to have on the bench, as he is the ideal description of an impact sub.

During the last season he proved that he both assisted and scored goals. In Serie A only he managed to score 12 goals and add 6 assists for his team.

No one expects Paz to be the starter in this Argentina team, but if they struggle later on in games, he will get his playing time off the bench.

One of the best proofs that this will happen, is the fact that he was heavily praised by one other than Lionel Messi.

Paz played in 35 league games for Como, and there’s no doubt that he’s coming to the USA in top form, and that he will look to prove himself for this tournament, and for the call ups to come.

Yan Diomande-Ivory Coast

Diomande is the most sought after youngster in the transfer window this summer. And , it is for all the good reasons. He was the best player for RB Leipzig in the 2025/26 Bundesliga season.

He appeared in 33 games on the year, scored 12 goals and added 8 more assists. With 20 goal contributions he was the top Buli youngster, and one of the best players overall.

At 19 years of age, he is already on the radar of teams such as Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Liverpool.

Of course, his price has already exceeded $100 million, so we can expect to see him playing another year for RB Leipzig.

His pace, dribbling, direct running, and superb play on the wing will be one of the biggest weapons Ivory Coast brought to the World Cup. It will be a joy watching Diomande perform his magic at the WC, so be sure to pay attention.

Pau Cubarsi-Spain

At the tender age of 19, Pau Cubarsi is one of the founding stones of current Barcelona defence.

The defender is praised for his positioning, strength in air, and almost perfect man marking.

He is to be in the centre of every success Barca us to have in the coming decade. Another La Masia product, Cubarsi has quickly found his place in Spain’s lineup.

He played 31 games for Barcelona last season, and so far has made 12 appearances for Spain. Despite not being in the team for Spain’s EURO 2024 win, he is expected to feature a lot more in the coming World Cup games.

Considering that Spain plays with lots of passes, and build up play that starts from defence, Cubarsi will most certainly have his spot cemented from the opening match if only based on his passing ability.

His La Masia roots cannot be hidden, and with 135 under his belt for Barcelona, his quality is almost undisputed at this point.

Kobbie Mainoo-England

Mainoo has had a turbulent season behind him. He was benched for Manchester United and on the transfer block during the Ruben Amorim era.

Yet, when Michael Carrick came in during the mid-season, Mainoo started to get minutes once again, and quickly became one of the main Red Devils players. When it was all said and done, he amassed 28 appearances for United, scoring a goal and adding two assists.

Yet, his best traits do not translate to stats all that well. Kobbie is a player that passes the eye test. He excels as a centre midfielder who can break up opponents flow of play, and start the transition of his team himself.

Composure on the ball, dribbling, and a lack of fear going forward make him a great addition to every team. If you remember he was a starter during England’s run to the final in 2024 at only 19 years of age. He can do the same this year too at an even bigger stage.

Kobbie Mainoo and the rest of the players on this list will make strides at the 2026 World Cup, and you can follow them from 11th of June until July 19th, as we’re sure that at least one of the players on this list will play in the final.
