TGL reveals 2027 rosters as Motor City joins expanded seven-team league

TGL unveiled its complete 2027 rosters Tuesday, expanding to seven franchises and five players per team as Motor City Golf Club prepares for its debut season.

Golf Channel reported that 35 players are set for Season 3, with 23 returning and several prominent PGA Tour names joining new or reshaped lineups.

The full roster announcement adds another major step in TGL’s growth after Monday’s first player trade sent Shane Lowry to Boston Common Golf.

Motor City will begin with Brooks Koepka, Jackson Koivun, Si Woo Kim, Jake Knapp and Bud Cauley, giving the Detroit expansion club a mix of experience and emerging talent.

Koepka brings five major championships, while Koivun arrives after an unbeaten Presidents Cup debut and a rapid rise from amateur golf into the professional ranks.

Boston Common now features Rory McIlroy, Lowry, Hideki Matsuyama, Keegan Bradley and Michael Thorbjornsen, creating one of the league’s most recognizable groups.

Tiger Woods remains on Jupiter Links with Max Homa and Tom Kim. Akshay Bhatia moves into a full-time roster role, while Keith Mitchell joins the squad.

Defending SoFi Cup champion Los Angeles Golf Club keeps Collin Morikawa, Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood and Sahith Theegala, with Ben James added as its fifth player.

The Bay Golf Club adds Ryan Fox and Blades Brown alongside Ludvig Aberg, Wyndham Clark and Min Woo Lee following Lowry’s departure in the league’s first trade.

Atlanta Drive retains Patrick Cantlay, Justin Thomas, Billy Horschel and Chris Gotterup, while Michael Brennan replaces Lucas Glover in the five-player setup.

New York Golf Club brings back Matt Fitzpatrick, Cameron Young and Rickie Fowler while adding Alex Fitzpatrick and Ben Griffin. Xander Schauffele is not returning.

Golf Digest also reported 12 newcomers across the league, reflecting a broader roster reset ahead of the expanded third season.

Even with five players available, each TGL match will still use three golfers per team, giving clubs more flexibility to manage form, availability and matchup choices.

The league’s expansion also increases the number of team identities competing at SoFi Center, where TGL combines simulated full shots with a purpose-built short-game complex.

Motor City’s arrival gives TGL its first new franchise since launch and introduces Detroit representation alongside clubs tied to Atlanta, Boston, Jupiter, Los Angeles, New York and The Bay.

The third season is scheduled to begin Dec. 27 at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, giving the new combinations just over two months to prepare.

The roster reveal shifts attention from offseason transactions to lineup decisions, with several championship-caliber groups now carrying deeper five-player options into TGL’s next phase.
