Who is Marie Bouzkova’s Coach Right Now

Tennis continues to flourish among women, and each day brings a new star to the forefront. Today, we’ll be focusing on Marie Bouzkova, a Czech-born professional tennis player who gained prominence after her triumphant victory at the 2022 Prague Open.

Born in the Czech Republic on July 21, 1998, 24-year-old Marie Bouzkova hails from a family of avid tennis enthusiasts. Her parents, Milan and Kveta Bouzkova, owned a tennis club in Prague where she began her journey in the sport. At just 10 years old, Marie moved to Florida to further her training at the prestigious Bollettieri Academy.

After two years, Marie decided to leave the academy and began working with her father, Milan. In 2014, she switched coaches once again and teamed up with Cristian Requeni.

Marie’s junior career was marked with significant achievements, including winning the 2014 US Open Girls’ Singles title after defeating Anhelina Kalinina in the final match.

Marie turned pro in 2013, prior to her US Open Girls’ victory, and competed in various ITF tournaments. She went on to secure 12 Singles and three Doubles titles at the ITF level before shifting her focus to WTA Tours.

She made a strong impression in 2019 at the Rogers Cup by reaching the semifinals. During the event, Marie defeated notable players such as Sloane Stephens, Jeļena Ostapenko, and Simona Halep, ultimately facing off against former world number 1, Serena Williams, in the semifinal match. Although she didn’t win, Marie managed to take the match to three sets, even claiming the first set 6-1.

Throughout her career, Marie has captured one Single and three Doubles titles on the WTA Tours. She has also achieved career-high rankings of 24 in both Singles and Doubles. Currently, Marie holds rankings of 31 and 159 in the Singles and Doubles categories, respectively.

Who is Marie Bouzkova Coach in 2023?

Christian Requeni

The current coach of Marie Buozkova is Christian Requeni, who works alongside her father, Milan. Christian started coaching Marie in 2014 after she briefly worked with her father. Christian shaped Marie into a world-class tennis player since she struggled on the ITF circuit before he came on board.

During their relationship’s first four (4) years, Marie recorded massive success on the ITF circuit, winning virtually all her ITF titles in both Singles and Doubles. In addition, she made a name for herself on the WTA Tour with consistent runs at various tournaments.

By and large, she won 13 Singles titles (12 ITF, 1 WTA) and six (6) Doubles Titles (3 ITF, 3 WTA) under the watch of Christian Requeni and her father. She also achieved her highest career ranking in Singles and Doubles through their guidance.

There are not so many details about Christain Requeni except that he was a former Spain professional tennis player and had the highest career ranking of 1006 in the ATP during his playing days. He also competed during ITF Tours, but we could not ascertain how many titles he won.

As stated earlier, Marie’s father, Milan Bouzkova, was a tennis club owner in Prague and started coaching his daughter at 13 when she left Bollietieri Academy. Unfortunately, we also could not obtain information about a possible tennis career, although he surely must have played tennis before considering the situation.

Aside from Christian and her father, other team members include her fitness coach, Mariano Hontecillas, Kveta Buozkova (her mother) as supervisor, Hassan Refay as a mentor, and so on.

Previous Coach Of Marie Bouzkova

The only previous coach Marie had was her father, although he is still a key member of her coaching team. Marie’s father, Milan, was her head coach since she started playing tennis until 2014 when she decided to try out an external party. Good enough, the decision has been great since her game has improved.
