Playing Career
Aliou Cissé began his professional football career at Lille in France, where he played from 1994 to 1997. He then moved to Sedan, where he played for a year before joining Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 1998.
Cissé played for PSG until 2002, during which time he also had a loan spell at Montpellier from 2001 to 2002.
In 2002, Cissé moved to the English Premier League, signing for Birmingham City. He played for Birmingham until 2004, after which he joined Portsmouth, where he made 23 top-flight appearances over two seasons.
In 2006, Cissé returned to France to play for Sedan, and then moved to Nîmes in 2008. He retired from professional football in 2009.
