Anirban Lahiri began playing golf when he was eight years old. He began his professional golf career in 2008 when he joined the Asian Tour.

In 2009, he won 11 events and an Order of Merit on the Professional Golf Tour of India. He won the Panasonic Open in 2011 and the SAIL-SBI Open for the second time the following year. He was ranked third on the order merits in 2013. On the Asian Tour, he won the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters and the Venetian Macau Open in 2014.

Anirban struggled in the 2019 season, finishing below the top 125 in the FedEx Cup and losing his PGA Tour card. By finishing 10th in the overall standings at the Korn Ferry Tour Finals, he was able to reclaim his PGA Tour card for the 2020 season.
