John Isner’s career took off in 2010 when he played the longest match in tennis history at Wimbledon against Nicolas Mahut. The three-day match lasted 11 hours and five minutes, with Isner winning the fifth set 70-68. 

In 2011, Isner made it to his first Masters 1000 final, where he lost to Novak Djokovic. He also made his first Grand Slam quarterfinal at the US Open, where Andy Murray defeated him.
