Nicolle Caliari missed weight by 4.5 pounds for UFC 333 on Friday, but her fight against Iasmin Lucindo will proceed with a 30% purse penalty in Abu Dhabi.
Caliari weighed 120.5 pounds against a 116-pound non-title strawweight limit. The bout remains on Saturday’s card, while all four fighters in the two championship contests made weight.
The UFC’s official weigh-in report confirmed that Caliari will surrender 30% of her purse to Lucindo and that their matchup will go ahead as scheduled despite the miss.
Lucindo registered 115 pounds, leaving a 5.5-pound difference between the fighters’ official readings. Their contest will now take place at catchweight rather than within the usual strawweight allowance.
The distinction matters because non-title strawweight fights permit one pound above the division’s 115-pound ceiling. Caliari exceeded that allowance, rather than simply coming in above championship weight.
Caliari was the only athlete among the card’s 28 competitors to miss weight, MMA News reported, leaving the event’s 14 scheduled bouts intact after Friday’s official scale session.
The result preserves Lucindo’s opportunity to compete while imposing a financial consequence on her opponent. The purse deduction goes to Lucindo, rather than being retained by the promotion.
Caliari enters with a 9-4 professional record and a 1-2 UFC mark, according to MMA Mania. Her lone promotional victory came by submission against Shauna Bannon in May.
Lucindo brings an 18-6 professional record and five wins from seven UFC appearances. Friday’s successful weight cut leaves her side of the booking unchanged ahead of their meeting.
Their matchup is scheduled to open the early preliminary portion of the event. Viewers following the catchweight fight will need to tune in before the main-card broadcast begins.
At the top of the card, featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski weighed 144.5 pounds. Challenger Movsar Evloev reached the 145-pound championship limit, clearing the main event’s official weight requirement.
Both men therefore remain eligible to contest the featherweight belt. Unlike the non-title fights elsewhere on the card, the championship matchup does not carry a one-pound weight allowance.
Bantamweight champion Petr Yan and former titleholder Merab Dvalishvili each registered 135 pounds. Their trilogy bout also passed the official weigh-in stage without a change to championship status.
The pair split their first two meetings, with Yan reclaiming the belt in December 2025. His fight-week comments about the trilogy preceded Friday’s confirmation that both had made weight.
The remaining main-card fighters also cleared their limits. Lone’er Kavanagh weighed 125.5 pounds opposite Ramazan Temirov’s 126 for their flyweight contest, which sits below the two title fights.
Heavyweights Alexander Volkov and Rizvan Kuniev registered 256 and 265 pounds. Aaron Pico weighed 145.5 pounds, while featherweight opponent Losene Keita reached the non-title limit of 146.
Both championship fights are scheduled for five rounds, with the other contests scheduled for three. UFC 333 takes place Saturday, October 24, at Etihad Arena on Yas Island.
Early preliminaries start at 10 AM ET, followed by preliminaries at noon. The main card begins at 2 PM ET, an earlier slot for American viewers.
Paramount+ will stream the entire card in the United States, according to the UFC. The schedule places Lucindo-Caliari in the opening broadcast block rather than the noon preliminaries.
Friday’s session leaves both title fights in place and the full card scheduled to proceed. Caliari’s missed limit changes the terms of the opener, including her potential earnings.
